The Afghan group holding an Italian photojournalist hostage appears ready to continue negotiating despite the passing of a deadline on Sunday night, Foreign Minister Massimo D'Alema said on Monday.
Speaking on the sidelines of a visit to the Hungarian capital, D'Alema confirmed that the kidnappers of Gabriele Torsello had made contact early on Monday.
"Despite the extremely difficult conditions, we have had confirmation that the possibility to negotiate exists and that there are a few more days," he said.
